St. Louis has always been a literary hotbed. To show their love for everything this city on the mighty Mississippi has given them over the last ninety years, the St. Louis Writers Guild decided to share their reflections of our wonderful, close-knit community. They honor the culmination of the Guild's 90th Anniversary Year of Festivals with this anthology written by some of today's greatest writers. Inside you’ll find 45 poems, stories, essays, and memories.

In 1920, six writers got together and founded the St. Louis Writers Guild. It was their intent to share ideas and experiences and encourage each other to write and publish their work. The six founders were Sam Hellman, Shirley Seifert, Jay Gelzer, William Brennan, Leonora McPheeters, and Ralph Mooney all highly accomplished authors.

This book was on my holiday wish list and my dear daughter surprised me with it. I really enjoyed reading this great local anthology. The contributing writers did a fine job of carrying on the St. Louis literary tradition.
